Our perceptions are monitored through our senses. A sliding scale of environmental dogma, sensitive to our inner psyche creating reactional reflexes our minds display, sometimes without a clue as we continue to focus our attention to what is at hand for the present moment.
Let me rephrase this: Are you aware of some of the responses that come through when you think or feel an emotion as you go through out your day? Do you practice mindfulness, bringing your full attention to that which is at hand for you? Do you feel any connections, if no, why?
Feeling an association to any one or a group of people is important, as well as environmental. I hear quite often, “I feel so alone,” “No one really understands me,” or “There is no one there for me.” When we as a society, we lose our connectedness, it is a valuable loss. If you have had these feelings for quite sometime, please find a local support group. It is worth the effort. Many caring, loving individuals will help you immensely, and most are free.
Many metaphysical authors may also have a solution to how you feel. Many work with angels, have a clue to cosmic connections, and the spiritual/enlighten internet radio will help you understand those feelings also.
If you are a woman, and have had a child, for 9 months you developed a special bond between you and your baby. You may have sung to your baby inside of you. You demonstrated loving thoughts; you prepared a room for him or her. You imagined all the beautiful things you were going to do as this child grew up. You walked, ate, slept as this little entity grew. People smiled at you, said kind words to you, and you may have felt exceptional and very proud. You were receptive to much love and fear as you went into the delivery room and complete joy and delighted as this little bundle was placed in your arms. You felt a special connection which no one else could experience; the connection of love.
People who fought in wars, and went through basic training, the barracks, trials, exasperations, the thrill of accomplishments all transcend into feeling connected as the tragedy of war continued.
In the battlefield, those who have never gone to war have not a clue as to what you are faced with. The fear you undergo, seeing a friend sacrifice his life for you, accidental disasters, maybe a few years with the same tour of duty. You may experience this as home base, feel a connection to your comrades like no one else knows, or could ever know. It is a special bond, as love unites everyone together as a family in a sense.
We have seen as a nation, and worldwide, many natural disasters, such as 911, Katrina, or the Tsunami in the early 2000’s, fires that destroy our forests for miles, and now the tragic earthquakes in Japan, though there were many in the past, as a nation, we will remember these the most. It is only because we lived through them, experienced and felt the heartbreak of those involved.
Through 911 the nation was shocked as we faced a major disaster. All people came together as one to give aid. Food, water, medical supplies and the help of strangers were given freely. There was a sense of urgency. An over load of stress, weeks of rubble, of finding family members, colleagues, and some of the people giving support lost their lives as they sacrificed themselves to help others. This disaster formed a national feeling of empathy, we all wept as newscasters told of the loss, and cried with joy for victory of when a victim of the tragedy were found and even more incredible, he or she were still alive. We as a nation felt the wave of compassion. Bonds formed with total strangers, creating a united emotion of connection to a particular incident that the whole nation shared. This incident shall always be remembered.
Many people gave up their vacations to go down to New Orleans, to help because of the major disasters of Hurricane Katrina. As everyone allied, some had to relocate, a major loss of everything one owned, again our nation formed a bond of unity. There was a special feeling of connection that no one else could feel, unless he or she went through it, the victims and those who gave. It is the same for the Tsunami, and for Japan. For Japan, it is still on going.
As well as for all disasters, the ones who could not help hands on, united in prayer and giving what they could for necessities, water and money for relief.
There are many support groups united all over the internet sending light and love. Performing this as a whole, at an appointed time, with hundreds and thousands of people, creates benefits, such as peace, and calmness, strength, hope and healing for those going through the devastation.
People gave of themselves to help; they felt the other’s pain, their loss and heartbreaks. They became united and felt the connections to the people they were helping. Most of the time, we do not know within our own being we have the innate ability to persevere through any type of adversity, whether personal or as a nation, until it happens, and it changes our lives forever.
Attending a wedding can be such a joyous occasion. Through the ceremony, you may cry undetected, brushing a little tear as both adults say their vows. It can be a moving experience, bringing back memories of childhood, if it is your son or daughter, childhood friend, or relative getting married. You realize relationships will change, you may feel a loss of personal connection, yet new associations and relations are formed, because of new people entering in.
During the whole day of the wedding ceremony and celebration, people you have not seen for a long time re-enter your world. It is an occasion for celebration and joy. You are all connected in this feeling and anything goes…you dance…send good wishes, maybe have a little too much too drink, and wonder how come it has been so long since you reconnected with the people you know and love. Throughout your life, you have always felt a fondness to certain people. It may be close relatives, family friends, or those you have acquired through out your life. These bonds are hard to break, unless something tragic happens to the relationship.
The connection you have is one of love. Love is the greatest connection because we feel its energy, its vibration all the time.
For example, a boy and his dog have a special bond. He sleeps with him. The dog is chief protector and friend. They are always together. The love between both is not unique. We can understand this kind of love, because we have either experienced it, or have seen movies and read about this kind of love. We can feel the connection.
Reading an exceptional book or a series pertaining to the character advances us to another world. We connect totally to the story. We feel the pain, horror, have the adventure, feel the thrills, sadness, and sometimes want to cry out because of the injustice or in joy because the hero had made it.
You feel a connection that is only unique to you, because within your psyche, you have understood the character and the analogy of the story, and you felt the emotion the author was trying to portray. You may feel a loss as the book or series end, even if it was a wonderful story, because you have become a part of the heart and soul of the book, and would like it to continue forever.
Taking little walks by yourself around the neighborhood, in a park or nature trail, just to sit by a brook or the ocean helps you reconnect with nature. Sometimes, it is just a walk and you feel good because you finally made it outdoors. As you reconcile yourself with the energy of all that is around you, you may become exhilarated, feeling the magnitude, especially if it is a special place that you feel connected to.
Places in Peru, Arizona, and Mexico, many areas in the Americas and all over the world have a special energy that is prevalent when visiting a site, such as Machu Pichu. There is an energy you can feel that is so electrifying and environmental, that it may shift your consciousness, and perception while you are there experiencing it. You feel connected, the energy of love, and so alive that you would love to stay there forever because the experience is none that you have ever felt before. You may be with a group and form bonds while you have taken a cruise, and hike together. You may encounter many dangers together if on a wild life expedition through a remote part of a jungle, or a very dangerous cliff pathway as you get to your destination.
Everything mentioned throughout the article shows at least some type of connection. As we throughout the whole world are ascending toward 2012, how will you connect to the changes that will be taking place? How will you feel the shifts that will take place in consciousness as we progress more toward an enlightened age? How can you prepare your self to feel connected as we evolve?
Evolving can happen on many levels. As you change your perception about an idea, your consciousness shifts a little to let that new idea grow and bloom with in you. You evolve slightly.
Having pure loving thoughts as you live your evolution out in your immediate life will bring benefits to you and those around you. Living kindness, love, compassion, and in joy and happiness changes you, and as you change, so do those around you.
As those around you change in a more positive way, others will coincide. Let me give you an example; you may be a very kind person, but unless you are showing kindness to everyone, think kind and loving thoughts in everyday actions, people will not feel the connection.
If you are working at a coffee shop, and as you hand the pastry or coffee to your customer, do you smile and say something kind to him or her? Do you help them to have a pleasant experience? Are they smiling, laughing, and feeling good as they leave? If they are, then you have been a light to them and they in turn will do the same to others they meet.
Some times when you are hugging someone, or shaking their hand you can simply say to yourself, “ I bless you with peace,” or “I bless you with love” or “with joy and happiness.” As you perform this action subconsciously, you are making a connection as you send out this energy. Moreover, as you send out this light, others will feel it and maybe they in turn will say something kind to others.
When you meditate and send loving light energy to the world and especially in places that you specify, and when others do the same, it helps the earth and its evolution, allowing people to become more aware and demonstrate love and kindness to others.
Also in meditation, asking for Mother Earth to fill you with love, and the Universal Father or Creator to fill you with light, and then you send this light, love and healing as a lighthouse, for example throughout your neighborhood, and then throughout the world, you are connecting to the earth and the universal cosmos. This helps you evolve and helps your consciousness collect information as you intuitively consult your Higher Self.
May you be blessed with light, love and kindness, and as you shower this blessing to others, you will be fully blessed and will feel the connection as it comes back to you.
